Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is currently searching for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Lifestyle Health: Weight Loss and Wellness team. The interdisciplinary team (consisting of physicians, advanced practice providers, behavioral health providers, and registered dieticians) uses a collaborative approach to develop a health and wellness plan for adult patients. Our approach includes a comprehensive medical evaluation, nutritional counseling, and behavioral consults. The Lifestyle Health Membership provides patients access to a wide range of educational programs, cooking demos, recipes, and more.

Job Description:

Advanced Practice Provider, Lifestyle Health

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Beth Israel Lahey Health

Schedule:

Full time (40 hours/week)

Hybrid Position: 1-2 days in person, telemedicine

Monday - Friday (to be determined)

No call coverage or weekend coverage required

Responsibilities:

  • Prescribe and manage medication within the scope of practice of the supervising physician per licensure.

  • Communicate relevant data via timely written documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Provide patient education regarding weight loss medications.

  • Provide education and counseling to patients for healthy lifestyle and behavior change with an emphasis on healthy eating, regular exercise and consistent follow up with members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Consult with collaborating physicians on cases of concern.

  • Delegate tasks to support staff within appropriate scope of practice.

  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with members of the interdisciplinary team.

  • Participate in ongoing education programs and continue professional development through organizational and community resources, conferences and workshops.

  • Complete annual mandatory education.

  • Maintain courteous and professional interactions with all staff and patients.

Requirements:

  • Commitment in managing the physical, emotional and social impact of patients navigating weight loss interventions.

  • Experience in nutrition, obesity medicine and family medicine is a plus

  • Experience using EPIC is preferred

  • Active or eligibility for APP license in the State of Massachusetts

  • DEA license

  • MCSR

  • BLS certification required
