Job Description:

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner to join the outpatient Psychiatry & Behavioral Medicine Division:

As an APRN, you would be responsible for the diagnostic evaluation of outpatients as well as developing individualized treatment plans supporting the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic needs of our patients. APRN would be expected to use pharmacologic medication management and psychotherapy interventions in the treatment of their patients. You will work closely with the interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors in the care of our patients. As part of a larger, academic medical center, we care for patients who receive coordinated, complex medical and surgical care in the ambulatory setting. There are opportunities to participate in education and training of other RN, APRN, medical students and other trainees. Academic appointments are available.

Successful candidates will be able to effectively evaluate, diagnose, consult, perform history and physical examinations and provide treatment, including psychopharmacologic and psychotherapeutic interventions, to patients who suffer from psychiatric, substance use, behavioral or emotional disorders, and to consult with providers in other fields regarding psychiatric, substance use, behavioral, or emotional disorders.

Education :

-Graduate of a Master’s Program in Nursing

-ANCC certification in psychiatric and mental health nursing as a nurse practitioner

-Completion of appropriate psychopharmacology courses and current prescriptive authority in Massachusetts.
